Lito Adiwang Backs Brooks in Interim Strawweight World Title Fight vs Balart

There’s no question in Lito “Thunder Kid” Adiwang’s mind who will come out on top at ONE Fight Night 24 this Saturday.

“I see Brooks submitting Balart,” he said, definitively rooting for Jarred “The Monkey God” Brooks in his Interim ONE Strawweight MMA World Championship match against Gustavo “El Gladiator” Balart.

Adiwang, the no. 5-ranked strawweight contender, knows first hand how good the former World Champion is, facing the brash American way back in 2021 at ONE: NextGen III.

And he trusts the exceptional game of Brooks that he anticipates him to dominate the fight from the standup to the ground.

“Para sa akin, mas lamang si Brooks,” he said. “Brooks can do it all: he can strike, wrestle, and grapple. Balart, on the other hand, can only strike and do takedown which I know Brooks is smart enough to handle.”

It’s interesting for Adiwang, however, to note that this might be the first time that Brooks will face someone smaller than him in the diminutive Balart.

“Maybe it will affect his takedown attack, but I still feel like Brooks can finish him on the ground,” he said.

No matter what the result of the fight, though, Adiwang wants to get the first crack at the winner while the reigning champion Joshua “The Passion” Pacio is still on the mend.

“I’m excited to watch this fight but motivated din ako to challenge whoever wins,” he stated. “I’m working so hard at mas masarap na makalaban kung sino man ang manalo, and if si Brooks nga yun, gusto ko rin makabawi sa kanya.”
