Ali Bagautinov Takes A Step Closer To MMA Gold At BRAVE CF 55

For a first-generation flyweight competitor such as Ali “The King Puncher” Bagautinov, he has pretty much done it all in mixed martial arts (MMA).

Throughout his professional career spanning nearly 12 years, the Russian dynamo has accomplished everything there is to accomplish both at the national and regional levels. But the only accolade missing in his trophy room is a coveted World Title in the sport.

The 36-year-old Dagestan native will have the opportunity to inch him closer to his goal of adding the words “World Champion” to his impressive résumé on November 6th.

Bagautinov is slated to square off with Jose “Shorty” Torres in the semifinal round of the prestigious BRAVE CF Flyweight World Title Tournament, which will headline the Bahrain-based promotion’s event—BRAVE CF 55—in Rostov-on-Don, Russia in association with Pro FC.

However, a date with destiny comes with a heavy price tag as Bagautinov needs to go through Torres in order to punch a ticket to the finals against the highly-touted Velimurad Alkhasov.

BRAVE CF 8-man flyweight tournament encompassed the best fighters in the division worldwide with representatives from the the United States, Finland, Brazil, Ireland, Russia. Currently, Torres is the only American standing next to the Russians, Bagautinov and Alkhasov.
