Fighting out of South Korea, with an impressive undefeated 7-0-0 pro record, Tae Kyun Kim will face Switzerland’s Husein Kadimagomaev, also undefeated at 7-0-0, at BRAVE CF 47: Asian Domination, which takes place on the 11th of March. It will be the biggest bout of his career, as he will have the chance to showcase his skills on the co-main event of Asia’s top promotion. But one that took some time to make, because, according to ‘’Ares’’, opponents were unwilling to face him.
While Kim believes that most BRAVE CF Featherweight fighters are avoiding him, he is grateful for the opportunity to test his skills with someone he considers a ‘’worthy opponent’’: Hussein Kadimagomaev.
‘’He’s a tough athlete and does not hesitate to accept fights. Competing against him will allow me to measure my level and my experience too. Champions are made in the cage. I can fight anyone, and I want a title shot because fighters in the Featherweight division do not want to face me. Stop avoiding me’’.
Hailing from humble beginnings in South Korea, Kim’s childhood has toughened him and that is why he treats his career and his peers with such severity. ‘’Ares’’ and his brother were raised by a single mother, and had many difficulties growing up, having to spend many nights with no basic necessities such as hot water or food.
His dream of becoming a top athlete began at 9 years of age, after watching a K1 fight. Moving into Judo and initially aiming for competing in the national team, to make his mother proud, TKK knew his passion was for MMA and transitioned into the field of Mixed Martial Arts. His goal from a young age was to be on the same level as Mike Tyson.
Identifying with the Olympian god of courage and war “Ares”, his strength, tenacity, and resilience comes from all the hardships he has overcome in life.
This attitude has served him well at BRAVE CF so far, as even injuries weren’t able to stop him making a name for himself in the truly global promotion.
“I had a fracture on my hip when I fought (Erick da) Silva but did not run away. My left hand was injured when I fought (Arturo) Chavez, but I did not stop, I fought”.
Tae Kyun Kim vs Hussein Kadimagomaev will be featured in the co-main event of BRAVE CF 47: Asian Domination. The first of four shows in 21 days will be headlined by Kyrgysztan hero Abdisalam Kubanychbek taking on Rolando Dy, from the Philippines, as the two top Lightweights in Asia fight for a title shot and continental supremacy in the biggest Asia event of the year.
