Filipino combatants Trestle “Jun Minion” Tan and Angelie “D Explorer” Sabanal looks to start their 2019 campaign on a high note as they are set to compete at ONE: LEGENDARY QUEST at the Baoshan Arena in Shanghai, China on 15 June.
Tan is set to challenge South Korea’s “The Big Heart” Yoon Chang Min in a lightweight showdown while Sabanal will go toe-to-toe against Japanese prospect Itsuki Hirata in a women’s atomweight affair.
Both Filipino athletes failed to end their 2018 campaign with win and is looking to score impressive victories in Shanghai to put themselves on the winning lane.
The 34-year-old Malaysian based Tan lost his only match last year after suffering a unanimous decision defeat in the hands of the “Crazy Dog” Dae Sung Park of South Korea at ONE: PURSUIT OF POWER in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last June, dropping his professional record to four wins and seven losses.
While for Philippine National Muay Thai Silver Medalist Sabanal, after starting her ONE Championship journey last year with a dominating win over Rika “Tiny Doll’’ Ishige of Thailand at ONE: IRON WILL in Bangkok, Thailand last March, the 28-year-old Gingoog City native failed to make it two in a row after losing to Indonesian star Priscilla Hertati Lumban “Thathie” Gaol at ONE: WARRIOR’S DREAM in Jakarta, Indonesia last November.
With the opportunity to display their skills and start their 2019 run in triumph, Both Tan and Sabanal are driven to place themselves back on the winning track as they are set to share the ONE circle in Shanghai against quality opposition.
Facing Tan is the 25-year-old Yoon who owns a win-loss slate of 1-1 and is looking to continue his impressive start at the Home Of The Martial Arts. At the biggest ONE Championship card ever assembled at ONE: A NEW ERA last 31 March, “The Big Heart” kicked off the gigantic card with a first-round submission of India’s Bala Shetty.
