First-Ever Super Lightweight Title Bout Voted BRAVE 23’s Fight Of The Night

BRAVE 23’s co-main event, between Eldar Eldarov and Mounir Lazzez, entered the history books for being the first-ever Super Lightweight world title fight in a truly global promotion. But the bout itself was also revered by critics and fans, as Eldarov’s decision victory over Lazzez earned Fight of the Night honors for last month’s groundbreaking event.

BRAVE Combat Federation’s social media profiles asked its followers which was the best bout from BRAVE 23: Pride and Honor, and Eldarov x Lazzez received the most votes, with thousands of followers choosing from a series of amazing fights that took place in the promotion’s much-anticipated return to Jordan.

The other nominees were the Lightweight world title fight which Luan “Miau” Santiago won against former champion Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady; Hashem Arkhagha’s victorious return to MMA competition against Jeremy Smith; and Khamzat Chimaev’s landmark win over Ikram Aliskerov.

The fight took both athletes to their physical limits, as Eldarov’s wrestling took the lead in the first three rounds, but Mounir Lazzez hung on. In the fourth, the Tunisian striker started to land heavy punches, and the fifth frame saw both fighters have their moments.

The three judges gave the fight to Eldarov, handing him the first-ever Super Lightweight world title. However, both fighters have expressed a desire for a rematch, with Mounir Lazzez leaving the rivalry to one side to congratulate Eldar for the win.
