Team Lakay’s John Cris Corton Faces Abdul Hussein in Manila at Brave 22

One of the most exciting prospects out of Philippine’s own Team Lakay will be fighting at home in Brave 22. Flyweight John Cris Corton is scheduled to face Finland’s Abdul Hussein in a 3-round match on March 15th.

Currently, on a 3-win streak, John Cris Corton comes from a convincing win over Bahrain’s Hussain Maki in Abu Dhabi last September. “Happy Feet” holds a professional record of 6 wins and three losses.

His opponent, Abdul Hussein, holds a professional record of 5 wins and only one loss as a professional. “ABBA” is one of the most prominent amateur athletes to make a successful transition. In his most recent appearance, Hussein beat Sylvester Chipfumbu via unanimous decision last December, in South Africa.

Corton will join several Team Lakay teammates in Brave 22 fight card, the most notable being the bantamweight champion Stephen “The Sniper” Loman, who defends his belt against the former featherweight kingpin Elias “Smile” Boudegzdame in the main event of the evening.

Brave 22: Storm of Warriors will take place on March 15, at the Mall of Asia Arena, in Manila, Philippines. The event will be the first one held by Brave Combat Federation in the country, kicking off the 2019 season for the truly global promotion
