Stephen Loman Defends Title Against Former Champ Elias Boudegzdame

Brave Bantamweight champion Stephen Loman has an opponent for his homecoming fight. Set to headline Brave 22 at the Mall of Asia Arena, in his home country of Philippines, “The Sniper” will take on dangerous submission artist and former Featherweight titleholder Elias Boudegzdame as he looks for an unprecedented third defense of his belt in his first fight at home.

Loman has been a stalwart for the Filipino MMA scene worldwide since he joined Brave Combat Federation, becoming its first, and so far only, Bantamweight champion and representing his country in Bahrain and Northern Ireland during his stint with the organization. After successfully defending his crown twice in 2018, he was voted Fighter of the Year by Brave fans, beating the likes of Jeremy Kennedy and Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady in the process.

Now, the Team Lakay representative will take on the biggest challenge of his career. Former Featherweight champion Elias “Smile” Boudegzdame will make his Bantamweight debut and will try to become the first fighter to hold Brave belts in two different weight classes. The French-Algerian star became the first champion in Brave history as he submitted Masio Fullen back at Brave 4, in March of 2017. After defending his title against Jakub Kowalewicz, “Smile” was defeated by current champ Bubba Jenkins and will look to bounce back in a new division.

Brave 22 will be the first event of the new year for the biggest MMA promotion in the Middle East. It will also mark the debut of Brave CF in the Philippines, after the success of Filipino fighters throughout the first two years of Brave, as Loman was joined by the likes of Jeremy Pacatiw, Jon Cris Corton, among others Filipino stars in the roster.
