Brave 18: MMA Community Embraces KHK Heroes

Jarrah Al Selawe, Welterweight world champion at Brave Combat Federation praised the initiative by the Kingdom of Bahrain to launch KHK Heroes on occasion of the opening ceremony of Brave International Combat Week 2018. Jarrah Al Selawe is the first Arab to be crowned as a champion in Brave Combat Federation when he defeated the former champion, Carlston Harris in the opening round of Brave 16 hosted in Abu Dhabi, UAE. With 6 straight wins in Brave Combat Federation, Al Selawe is undefeated in the promotion and has the most number of wins. Al Selawe will visit Bahrain on occasion of Brave International Combat Week 2018 taking place during 11th November till 18th November at the Khalifa Sports City in Bahrain.

“The launch of KHK Heroes is inspiring and motivating not only for fighters but for every human being. To recognise those who had struggle more than the rest makes us better human beings and we are proud that His Highness Sheikh Khalid is leading the athlete community with such meaningful initiatives”, said the world champion from Jordan.

Lucas Mineiro, Lightweight World Champion of Brave Combat Federation has gave a statement that Brave Combat Federation unites athletes beyond the sport. The lightweight champion will be travelling to the Kingdom of Bahrain to defend his world championship title against Abdul Kareem Al-Selwady at the main event of Brave 18 hosted on 16th November in Khalifa Sports City in Bahrain. Mineiro supports social projects and runs initiatives for children with special needs and for the underprivileged in the society.

Mineiro also emphasised the growing role of athletes as influencers of social change and praised the Kingdom of Bahrain for focusing the potential of sports to empower social change. The lightweight champion also did welcome expansion of the projects to Brazil which has hosted most number of editions of Brave Combat Federation other than Bahrain.

“This is a great news for the athlete community. As a world champion, the championship has more meaning if the title can influence and transform lives. I spend my time for such projects and with bigger projects under His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa being initiated, I look forward to extend my support.

KHK Heroes expands horizons for every athlete in the promotion to do their bit for those with special needs and for those deserve to be recognised at the highest level”, said Lucas Mineiro, lightweight world champion of Brave Combat Federation.
