Carlston Harris Set to Prove He is the Best Champion in Brave Combat Federation

Brave Combat Federation welterweight champion, Carlston Harris is just a week away from defending his championship title at Brave 16 hosted in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The welterweight fighter is the first global MMA champion out of his home nation, Guyana.

Harris is set to defend his title against the contender with most number of wins in the entire promotion. Harris had stepped in to contest for the championship when Mohammad Fakhreddine pulled out from the championship title fight held during Brave 8 in Curitiba, Brazil. Within a day’s notice the fighter from Guyana took the fight set for five rounds of action against the contender from England, Carl Booth.

Initially Harris was scheduled to fight three rounds against Rodrigo Cavalheiro. Not only did Harris fight all five rounds against Booth but also won the fight by unanimous decision. Due to an injury Harris was later unable to compete for nearly a year.

On 21st September, the champion from Guyana will defend his championship at the Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Carlston who came from humble beginnings attribute his success to his tough life he spend chasing his dream.

“I had always fought hard to chase my passion for mixed martial arts. I was poor but always I did held my head high and fought for what I believed in. For a man who fought life and the world all on his own, defending a championship doesn’t scare at all. Jarrah haven’t fought as hard as me. He was always supported by his team, sponsors, fans and media. He will never face someone as tough as me. I train to keep my dreams alive”, said Harris.

Harris was criticised for the delay in title defence and during Brave 12 even introducing an interim title was suggested. However Harris silenced his critics by returning from the injury and accepting to face the challenger.

“I do not want to be a champion who holds a championship for the sake of selfies. In Brave Combat Federation, there is no champion like me in any division who always stepped in to face the toughest challenge offered. I stepped in to face a guy who trained to fight five rounds in one day notice. Now here I am ready to go for absolute war against the warrior with most number of wins in the entire organisation.

I am not only the best fighter in Brave Combat Federation, but the best champion in the organisation. I don’t mind who Brave Combat Federation will put in front of me. I will terrorise my opponents in the cage and will give the best fight ever. I accept that Jarrah waited so long for this fight. But I am coming for war”
