Stephen Loman created history when he became the first fighter from Team Lakay to defeat an opponent from SBG Ireland. He is also the youngest fighter from Philippines to defend his championship in Europe. The 23 year old superstar from Team Lakay will be fighting closer to his opponent’s territory but is unfazed by the challenge. In their previous encounter against Frans Mlambo, Loman made a comeback after overcoming impressive striking game from his opponent, to dominate the ground game and to secure victory by unanimous decision.
This marks the second time the two major gyms are encountering each other. Team Lakay emerged as a dominant presence at the Asian MMA creating multiple champions. However in the past, all three appearances by the team at Brave Combat Federation ended up without yielding success. Currently Loman is the only fighter from Team Lakay who is undefeated at Brave Combat Federation. He is also the only fighter from Team Lakay to score a win over an opponent from SBG Ireland.
Though SBG have produced talent who were successful in promotions around the world, only Will Fleury and Frans Mlambo had managed to win at Brave Combat Federation. Brave 13: Europe Evolution marks the second time that Team Lakay and SBG Ireland is clashing against each other. With more media attention awaiting the clash between two masterminds supporting their respective athletes, SBG will have high stakes entering Brave 13: Europe Evolution.
