Ahmed “The Butcher” Amir has announced that he is back to training to prepare for his upcoming fight with the Brave Combat Federation. Amir had previously fought in the eleventh edition of the event hosted in Belo Horizonte, Brazil where he faced Cleiton Silva. Amir accepted the fight despite his opponent missing the weight by over 3 kilograms. However the fight went against Amir when his opponent inflicted a cut during the early first round which resulted in profuse blood loss. The fight ended up in doctor stoppage when the referee decided that it is not safe for Amir to continue and called for medical assistance.
Amir is the first fighter from the Middle East who joined Straight Blast Gym Ireland to be trained under John Kavanagh. The career trajectory of Amir follows a similar story as that of the former UFC Champion. Amir immigrated to Kuwait from Egypt in search of a career, where he worked as a trainer in a gym. He focused on his career while actively undergoing MMA training and competing. Amir shocked the MMA world when he finished the Jiu Jitsu legend, Richie Martinez in the very first round while escaping multiple submission attempts. Followed by the shocking victory, Amir went forward to defeat Kevin Koldobsky and Erik Carlsson to be finally reckoned as a major prospect in the Arab MMA World.
In the latest announcement of his training camp in preparation of his upcoming fight, the MMA sensation from Egypt shared his moments with Conor McGregor and Coach John Kavanagh. It was announced that Amir will be back in action soon after June.
