Eduard Folayang dominates Kharun Atlangeriev, Gets Back to Winning Ways

The Landslide is BACK! Eduard Folayang successfully made his first step in claiming back his lightweight throne after defeating Kharun Atlangeriev of Russia via unanimous decision at ONE: UNSTOPPABLE DREAMS.

Six months since losing his title at ONE: LEGENDS OF THE WORLD last November in Manila, Folayang quickly imposed his intentions in front of his mixed martial arts fans that he will do whatever it takes to have a shot again to the title.

Fighting an undefeated young prospect, the 34-year-old Baguio City native displayed a well executed game plan, dominating his Russian foe in all three rounds with his superior stand-up skills.

Folayang’s improved take down defense was also evident in to the fight, shutting down every take down attacks of Atlangeriev.

Aware that he is way behind in the eyes of the judges, Atlangeriev tried to exchange punches with the Filipino mixed martial arts star in the last round. But Folayang’s excellent defense and accurate attacks was too much for the Russian opponent.

With the victory Folayang improved his record to 19 wins and six losses, while Atlangeriev got his first career defeat out of 12 fights.
