Geje Eustaquio ready on the privilege and pressure of representing more than 100 million Filipinos at ONE: GLOBAL SUPERHEROES

Geje “The Gravity” Eustaquio is no stranger in big fights and has already been in with some of the toughest fighters in his division.

The 28-year-old Baguio City native has showcased his martial arts skills all across his home country and in foreign territories multiple times, winning several titles along the way.

But Eustaquio admits that despite already displaying his talents in front of his family and Filipino fans several times, the pressure and magnitude of his upcoming battle this Friday could be the biggest from the previous wars that he have fought.

“It’s a pressure fighting in front of more than 100 million Filipinos but at the same time it’s a privilege and prestige to represent them. I trained very hard for this fight, I studied and done my assignments, I will do my best and God will do the rest,” Eustaquio stated.

Eustaquio will headline ONE: Global Superheroes this Friday night at the 20,000-seater SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay where he will be facing former ONE Flyweight king Akhmat Akhmetov of Kazakhstan in a much awaited rematch.

The two warriors went toe-to-toe when they first fought each other last September at the main event of ONE: TOTAL VICTORY in Jakarta with the Kazakh snatching a razor thin split decision victory.

“This is going to be the continuation of our three-round war last time. This could end in our 4th round or another decision after 8 rounds inside the cage with him,” Eustaquio said.

“Anything can happen, I’ll be prepared and ready,” he added.

4 months have passed, with both fighters back in their winning ways after their tough setbacks last year, the stake is much higher when they clash this Friday night as the interim ONE Flyweight World Championship title will be on the line.

With the winner most likely will get the golden ticket for a rematch against ONE Flyweight king Adriano Moraes.

“I am expecting another difficult bout. Kairat Akhmetov is tough and has a huge heart inside the cage. That is why I am preparing very well for this rematch. A victory over Kairat would land me a rematch against Adriano Moraes. I believe I have what it takes to become the undisputed ONE Flyweight World Champion in the future.” Eustaquio ended.
